A Business Credit Card for Your Upcoming Business

All over the world, many small businesses today are going for getting their own business credit cards. To get a small business going, you do not need to have a business credit card. But, it does help to have one.  There are many ways in which a business credit card can help. It can help you avoid any issues with cash flow. It can also be helpful when you need to buy something urgently for the business, but are cash-strapped. Some of these cards are also accompanied with software, which makes it easy to keep track of expenses.

Business Credit Card Online Application

It is now becoming increasingly convenient to apply for business credit cards that offer low interest rates. These can be applied for online from your home or workplace, and making it unnecessary to visit various banks or financial institutions. Currently, many small businesses are using business credit cards to finance their operations. Cards that can offer low APR and small or zero annual fee, can get a lot of worries out of the way from purchases and additional expenses that come by in running a business. These will help in improving the profit for the business.

There are some limitations as well to having a credit card for a small business. Since business risks can be much higher than personal risks, business credit cards generally have a much higher interest rate than personal credit cards. Despite this, businesses still prefer having the credit card because of all the advantages it brings with it. It would greatly help to be forewarned about these potential problems associated with business credit cards.

For the first few years, your personal and business finances are combined. The personal liability on the business credit card is the same as that on a personal credit card. If the business is not able to keep up with payments on the credit card, the liability of making the payments shifts to the individual. The cardholder agrees upon this clause when he applies for the card.

This card will also appear on the cardholder's personal credit reports. Late payments on the business card would now adversely affect his credit history. However there is a saving grace. The personal liability clause can be taken out from the agreement after a couple of years of adhering to good payment practices. This nullifying of the personal liability clause would be subject to case-by-case determination dependent on the confidence the individual has generated with the financial institution. Once this happens, the small business card will no longer appear on the personal credit report.

The purpose of these cards is to work for companies, and not consumers. The credit card companies are not involved with any disputes between the business and the service provider, as opposed to the personal credit card where if you are not satisfied with the product or service delivered, you can dispute the billing and the credit card company will intervene on your behalf. In this regard, there is lesser protection offered by the business credit card than the personal credit cards.

Even with all these limitations, it is still worth its while to get a business credit card. As long as you use the card wisely, you and your business can reap its many benefits. It is a practical and useful option to have in your kitty to help along with your business’s success.
